Product Description

A booster pump is used to increase inlet pressure to the Reverse Osmosis (RO) membrane. RO membranes require a minimum of 50 PSI to operate as per the manufacturers data. Most water supplies struggle to meet this minimum requirement.

If you plan to use your RO system where low water pressure is a problem, a booster pump will be essential. Booster pumps pay for themselves through increased RO performance with much faster production of filtered water and less wastewater.

What is Reverse Osmosis?

Reverse osmosis (RO) is a filtration method that removes many types of large molecules and ions from solutions by applying pressure to the solution when it is on one side of a selective membrane. The result is that the solute is retained on the pressurized side of the membrane and the pure solvent is allowed to pass to the other side.

Reverse osmosis is most commonly known for its use in drinking water purification from seawater, removing the salt and other substances from the water molecules.
