Spot Free DI water is ideal for vehicle and window washing as it eliminates the time consuming drying process and ensures that residual water won't leave any spots. Chamois, towels and squeegees, no matter how soft, can impart scratches in a finish affecting the overall appearance of your prized possession.

 

What causes those dry white water spots?

 

Spotting is caused by impurities (dissolved salts) that remain after the water has evaporated. Hard water spots can be difficult to remove even after a short period of time. In some cases, hard water spots can become permanent or require special tools, products and training to remove the damage they cause.

For fleet vehicle washers, window washers and mobile detailers, DI water saves considerable time and effort as there is no need to dry the surface.

 

What is DI?

 

Deionised water (DI water or de-ionized water), is water that has had its mineral ions removed. The ions such as cations from sodium, calcium, iron, copper and anions such as chloride and bromide are removed by a process which uses specially-manufactured ion exchange resins which bind to and filter out the mineral salts from water. Because the majority of water impurities are dissolved salts, deionisation produces a high purity water and this process is quick and without scale buildup. However, deionisation does not significantly remove uncharged organic molecules, viruses or bacteria, except by incidental trapping in the resin.

 

Osmotics DI systems treat incoming water by removing mineral ions (cations from sodium, calcium, iron, copper and anions such as chloride and bromide) providing an ultra-pure demineralised water with a very low TDS (Total Dissolved Solids). We offer multiple sizes of DI systems ranging from our single cartridge system to dual cartridge units with varying capacity. We also offer custom DI tanks for purchase. We do not offer exchange or regeneration services.

 

DI water is to be used for the rinsing process only and not the entire cleaning process. While we strongly recommend your vehicle or windows are cool to the touch and in a shady area, we have many customers who rinse in direct sunlight without having to manually dry.
