Product Description

This pre-filter can be used on all our systems. It will also fit all other makes of RO systems.

Softening water prior to feeding a Reverse Osmosis unit results in increased pre-filter and membrane life. Softening is widely regarded as an essential pre-treatment for the Reverse Osmosis process.

Supplied pre-filled with softening resin, this unit is excellent value straight from the box.

Osmotics sell softening resin by the litre so you can refill this cartridge over and over.
The cation exchange resin contains beads of a uniform size(monodisperse) based on a styrene-divinylbenzene copolymer. The monodisperse beads are chemically and osmotically very stable.

Service life is dependant on the quality of the water supplied to this filter. This resin is especially suited to softening drinking water .

  1. Improve your RO Water and your Cup of Tea not a Joke!!!! – Rating 5

I purchased this, on the Advice of a Discus Hatchery, to improve my Reverse Osmosis System, and extend the life of the Membrane. Our tap water is very hard in Bridgwater, Somerset, and we are regularly descaling the kettle. When I connected it first, I ran off a few gallons to waste, to give the Resin chance to settle, having done this, i filled the Kettle, and made a cup of Tea, the best I have ever drank at home.It is true, Tea tastes much better when made with Soft Water.

What is Reverse Osmosis?

Reverse osmosis (RO) is a filtration method that removes many types of large molecules and ions from solutions by applying pressure to the solution when it is on one side of a selective membrane. The result is that the solute is retained on the pressurized side of the membrane and the pure solvent is allowed to pass to the other side.

Reverse osmosis is most commonly known for its use in drinking water purification from seawater, removing the salt and other substances from the water molecules.
