Pentair CBR2-10 Lead and Heavy Metal Removal Carbon Block Filter

CBR2 Series are advanced multi-media cartridges designed to reduce chlorine taste & odor and other contaminants.

They are manufactured using a powdered activated carbon (PAC) with a specially designed adsorbent media for lead and mercury reduction. The unique polyolefin bilaminate prefilter increases the cartridges' useful life by trapping sediment that typically plugs carbon block cartridges.

Carbon works on the principle of adsorption, a process by which matter adheres to the surface area of an adsorbent material.

Materials such as coal, wood, coconut are transformed into carbon, which is then activated, either chemically or thermally. This activation creates pores in the carbon surface resulting in a product with a very large amount of active surface area.
